The appendix is an organ located at the beginning of the large intestine, in the lower right region of the abdomen, with a blunt end. If the mouth of this duct is blocked with intestinal contents, infection develops and causes the disease we call acute appendicitis. There is a pain that starts around the navel and moves towards the right groin area. Nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite may be accompanied. After the diagnosis is made by physical examination and imaging, it requires urgent surgery. After laparoscopic, in other words surgery that is performed closed, patients usually stay in the hospital for 1 day and are discharged.
